TRANSFERRING TO KASPER FOSTERING

If you are already a foster carer and wish to transfer to Kasper, we understand these decisions can sometimes be difficult. Our team will manage this process sensitively and speedily, ensuring a smooth process and transition.

Are you a Kent foster carer looking to transfer to a different fostering agency?

If you currently reside and foster within Kent, but are looking to transfer to Kasper Fostering, you may have some questions. Below are some common questions our team have received from some of our carers who have transferred over to our fostering agency.

Do I need to be fostering assessed again?

Yes, at this point the regulations mean we will understand an assessment, but this will not take as long as your original assessment and it also helps us really get to know you better so we can ensure we make informed referrals to you if you have a vacancy.

Can I transfer if I have been caring for a child already?

Yes, you can transfer at any time. A transfer meeting at the beginning of the transfer process will ensure a smooth process for both you and any child/young person you look after.

Do I need to do all the training again?

This depends on when you last completed the relevant course, and we will ask your current agency for your training records so we can ensure we only allocate training that is needed.

If you are interested in knowing more about Kasper and how to transfer, then please contact our Kent office with the details below:

What happens next?

We will come and see you to discuss Kasper services more and to find out about your fostering journey so far. If you make a decision that you would like to transfer to Kasper, then a brief letter to your current agency about your ‘Intention to Transfer’ from your self will be done. Following a protocol meeting (if you have a child in placement), an assessment will begin by Kasper and a Fostering Panel date agreed in the near future.

Kasper aims to make this process as seamless as possible for you, recognising you are a professional foster carer and our future colleague.
