DIANE AND KEITH

We are Diane and Keith and we've been working as respite foster carers for Kasper for nearly a year now. We fostered for another agency before this but transferred to Kasper as they are ‘not-for-profit’ and have an excellent reputation for supporting foster carers.

Since being with Kasper, we have cared for many different children and young people from all walks of life, with varying personalities, abilities and needs.

Kasper have, each time, carefully matched us and the children, being mindful of our abilities and knowledge and the needs of each child.

The agency’s guiding beliefs and distinguishing ethos - to put children at the centre of everything they do, mirrors our own, making one of the best working relationships in our many years of fostering and employment.

All members of staff at Kasper are on hand to help and support whenever needed and regularly ‘check in’ to find out how we're doing. Their out of hours service is efficient and easily accessible, providing excellent support when carers often need it most.

Comprehensive training and support groups are well presented, informative, engaging and relevant. Training courses are both face to face and online and requests for relevant learning needs are always considered by the agency.

We have an excellent professional working relationship with our supervising social worker, with a good level of trust and respect between us we feel able to be transparent with her in discussion and there is always open dialogue on new ideas, which are heard and considered.

We have seen Kasper consistently act in the best interests of each child we have cared for, actively advocating on their behalf, swiftly and effectively.

Our daily logs are always read by staff, giving carers confidence that the agency has up-to-date knowledge of what is going on in the day-to-day lives of the children.

Social events are regularly arranged for the children and their carers to enjoy, along with office staff who also attend, such as beach barbecues and Easter hunts. It's a lovely way to meet new carriers and catch up with familiar ones.

Without hesitation, we would thoroughly recommend Kasper to anyone considering fostering. Their outstanding Ofsted report also speaks for itself.
